Dear 2026 Sec 1 Parents/Guardians,

Congratulations on your child/ward being posted to Bukit Panjang Government High School!

Please read through this page in detail and complete the online form at the end of this page by 19 Dec 2025, 5pm. You and your child/ward do not need to physically report to the school.

1. Welcome Letter by Principal, Mr Seet Tiat Hee

2. 1st Day of School (2 Jan 2026) and Week 1 (5-9 Jan 2026) Information

Your child/ward should report to school by 7.30 am on 2 Jan 2026 (Friday) for the first day of the Orientation Programme.

*PE shirt and white shorts/maroon skirt

If they have not purchased the BPGHS uniform, they can wear their primary school uniform.

**This day will conclude the Orientation Programme, which will end at 8.30pm with a campfire.

Normal timetabled lessons will resume on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, at 8.50 am.

For all parents, we would like to invite you to join us at BPGHS for the following two events:

6 Jan 2026 (Tue), 5.45pm to 8.30pm : Orientation Campfire

Join your child/ward in the finale of their Orientation programme, as they celebrate with their Sec 1 classes to mark the beginning of their secondary school life.

9 Jan 2026 (Fri), 6pm to 7.30pm: Parent-Teacher Conference

Attend this session to learn more about what your child/ward can expect in Secondary School, followed by a breakout session where you can meet the Form Teachers of your child/ward.

You may join us at the CCA Roadshow on this day, from 3-5pm, as well.

3. Offers to take Subject(s) at More Demanding Level, Higher Mother Tongue and Third Language

Parents/guardians will be notified of their child/ward's eligibility via Parents Gateway (PG) by 22 Dec 2025 (Mon). You will have to respond by 23 Dec 2025 (Tue), 5pm.

Those not yet onboarded to Parents Gateway will be contacted by the school instead. 

Please refer to the respective MOE websites for the eligibility criteria: 

• Subjects (English, Maths, Mother Tongue, Science) at More Demanding Level

• Higher Mother Tongue

• Third Language

Students taking Higher Tamil or Third Languages will need to attend these classes in another school or MOE Language Centre.

4. Art Elective Programme (AEP) Registration and Selection Test

BPGHS offers an in-house AEP. We provide a supportive environment for students to discover their creative potential and develop their artistic vision. Read more about AEP here.

Students interested in AEP must:

• Register at this link: https://tinyurl.com/AEPsignup25 by 19 Dec 2025 (Fri).

• Attend the AEP Selection Test at BPGHS on 22 Dec 2025 (Mon), 8-10 am. They should report in their primary school uniform. 

Interested students who could not attend the AEP Selection test should email their digital art portfolio to Mr Tay Guan Chuan, HOD/Aesthetics (tay_guan_chuan@schools.gov.sg) for consideration by 22 Dec 2025 (Mon), 12 pm.

5. Booklist and School Uniform

• Please refer to the Sec 1 booklist at this link. The books may be purchased in school or online:

  • The school bookstore will be open from 9 am to 3 pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 Dec.

  • The books can also be purchased online at this link: https://asenciobookshop.sg/ for greater convenience.

• School Uniforms are only available for purchase in school on 22 Dec 2025 (Mon), 9am to 3pm. Alternatively, they can be purchased online here: https://www.yangtzekiang.com.sg/eshop/

6. Other information

MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) Application

To obtain the FAS approval letter from BPGHS, the student should present to the General Office either:

• the 2026 FAS application approval letter from their Primary School, or  

• the 2026 FAS application approval letter of their sibling studying in another school.

New FAS applicants should submit their application at this link as early as possible because it takes about one month to process. The FAS approval letter by BPGHS is required for the collection of free textbooks and uniforms.

Student Concession Card

Sec 1 students can continue to use their Primary level School Smart Cards for concessionary travel until they receive their Secondary level School Smart Cards.
