About Us

Established in January 2000, the BP Fencing team has long upheld the school’s proud tradition of excellence in the sport. Often described as physical chess, fencing, the art of swordsmanship, challenges student-athletes to push beyond their physical and mental limits while developing agility, poise, and tactical sharpness. Our fencers consistently achieve strong results in the National School Games (NSG) across B and C Divisions, earning recognition for their focus, grit, and discipline.

Beyond their achievements on the strip, the team places a strong emphasis on character and shared leadership, striving to shape every member into a Leader of Good. Guided by our school values, fencers learn to Think critically in high-stakes bouts, Care for their teammates, and Serve their community with humility. To foster mental acuity and personal growth, Secondary 3 and 4 seniors lead Secondary 1 and 2 juniors in daily reflection sessions to evaluate daily learnings and refine their techniques. Fencers also put service into practice off the strip by organising key school events, including the CCA Roadshow, Secondary 1 Selection Trials, annual Bonding Camp, and Senior Farewell Party.

Our athletes train consistently throughout the year to prepare for major competitions, with an increasing number of fencers reaching the Top 32 at the National School Games. Recent milestone achievements highlight the team's growth, including a 4th-place finish in the 2024 C Division Girls’ Team Championship, alongside historic individual podium finishes by Goh Xin Ze (3rd place, 2024 C Division Girls’ Epee) and Wee Yi Rou Rainy (3rd place, 2025 B Division Girls’ Epee).

Beyond national competitions, our fencers gain valuable international exposure by testing their skills against top regional talents, sharpening their tactical edge and broadening their perspective on the sport.

For every BP fencer, the journey is about striving for excellence together—learning, growing, and competing with heart both on and off the strip.
